I’m very excited to be teaching INTRODUCTION TO ILLUSTRATOR as it is one of my favorite programs for creating and designing. I also hope to help people based on their personal interests in the program. Here is the course description from 3rd Ward’s page:

“Calling ALL PEOPLE interested in GRAPHIC DESIGN. Want to tighten up your drawn illustrations? Want to put together graphics for the web or high-resolution images for business cards, t-shirt designs, CD covers or posters? One of the core tools used to create and manipulate web or print graphics is Adobe Illustrator. This course will cover all the application’s basic functions. Oh, how your life will be changed by the power of scalable vector graphics, as well as some recipes and tricks of the trade! In this intensive, you will learn all of the basics of the application including the drawing and reshaping tools, combining objects, fill and stroke, applying color and adding type. The class will also explore different ways to prepare files for printing and the difference between print and screen resolution, as well as converting bitmaps to vector artwork, which can be blown up without losing resolution. We will go through a shared project together, or you can bring your own images and files to work with. The goal is to establish a comprehensive workflow within the application, starting from importing and converting graphics, to printing and exporting for web. However, we’ll be hip-hopping around based on interests and needs. Basic computer literacy is required for this course. Adobe Photoshop experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Students are encouraged to bring files.”
