Continuing my series of places we can no longer visit, I designed an ode to the Pickle Barrel. Anyone who went to Ocean City High School, the old school school- before they built the new one, remembers the convenience store on the corner. It was a little hole in the wall with beat up soda machines on the first floor of an old shore house. You’d have to walk through the haze of smoke from all the older kids getting their morning or after school cig fix. I’d go in for a Snapple or some gum and candy. Others would grab some breakfast or a bag of chips. The Pickle Barrel was for all of us: the punks, the surfers, the hippies, the metalheads, the jocks, the art kids, the popular ones; it was our bit of freedom just before being locked up in school all day. 🥒
The design comes in a distressed look to give it that vintage feel. https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/8614526-pickle-barrel…
