Years ago I sent this illo to Rainn on MySpace- he loved it and wanted to buy it. Then he got sick for a few days and disappeared. We never got to make the transaction.

Giada De Laurentiis – revisited
Giada De Laurentiis – one of my first digital illustrations, a transition from oil paints. I tweeted it to Giada and she replied “LOL! Boy I have a BIG head!”

Home Brew
Here’s an old illustration I did for the Philadelphia Weekly. A write-up on home brewing. Look how fancy I got with adding my website! I didn’t do that much.

A quick rendering of my Big Eyes sketch! Great movie if you haven’t checked it out. Amy Adams as Margaret Keane.

Champagne & Tater Tots
Erin and I have been going through my old clayboard paintings from the early 2000s. I used to love to paint on clayboard as it was a smooth, quick-drying surface. Now most of my work is done in Photoshop, which is a different kind of fun and takes up much less space. I used oils at the time because acrylics dried too fast. I also painted in blue & white instead of black & white because we learned in art school that you shouldn’t even own black paint- you’re supposed to mix it. So I will dub these paintings my ‘Blue Period.’
This one was created for the Top 5 of the Moment in the Philadelphia Weekly: http://www.philadelphiaweekly.com/arts-and-culture/top_5_of_the_moment-38337324.html

It’s a Wonderful Life Aquatic!
One of my favorite movies was released 10 years ago this Christmas- The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I did this illustration for Seattle Weekly prior to the release and got some of the colors wrong.
