I’m always rooting for the underdog, and there’s no better story of beating the odds than Peggy Olson’s storyline in Mad Men. Peggy starts out at Sterling Cooper as Don Draper’s secretary, surrounded by male chauvinists and a bossy Joan Holloway. Soon she works her way up to copy editor, and then leaves SCDP to be a copy chief, all the while doing things her way. I think this is my favorite Peggy moment- when she’s walking down the hall with her sunglasses on and cigarette hanging out of her mouth- she has arrived.
